1. ARE ALL YOUR PUPPIES LONGCOAT? Our heart lies with the beautiful longcoat so yes all our puppies are coated. While two short coats (if both carry the longcoat gene) can produce a longcoat puppy in the litter, two longcoats will produce 100% longcoat puppies. 2. HOW MUCH DO YOUR PUPPIES COST? $2000 + Shipping for a puppy. We only sell puppies with limited registration (no breeding rights). Adult prices vary! 3. HOW MUCH DOES SHIPPING COST? Approximated $475 (includes crate and health certificate) for a puppy. 4. CAN I VISIT TO PICK OUT AND PICK UP MY PUPPY ON THE SAME DAY? The answer is NO!! We must get through the selection process before we can get state health certificates on the puppies. The timeline process is set the day the pups are born. We start the selection process after the vet visit. There is allot involved to get a litter ready to leave, including vaccines that have a specific timeframe, worming, puppy packets, shipping crates, puppy socialization. They are set to go home two weeks after the vet visit. If this is a litter born at my kennel, vet visit is at 6 weeks of age and pups are ready to go at 8 weeks of age. If this is a co-own litter, the pups wont come to the kennel until 8 weeks of age which delays shipping until 10 wks of age. 5. WHAT KIND OF FOOD AND HOW OFTEN SHOULD I FEED MY PUPPY? Our puppies are fed NutriSource Small/Medium Breed Puppy and an 8 wk old puppy should eat 3 times per day. We expect our puppy buyers to find this type of food before the puppy arrives as changing over to another food quickly is not tolerated well by the puppy. They should always have water available. 6. WHAT IS NUVET? NuVet is an all natural vitamin supplement that boosts the immune system keeping it strong. NuVet is loaded with prebiotics which gives the perfect environment for priobiotics to thrive. The immune system is what keeps the body healthy and fights disease. Since we all know kibble does not cover 100% of the dogs nutritional needs and we have no control over the type of food the puppies are fed once they leave our kennel, we require NuVet be given for the developmental stages up to 2 yrs of age. NuVet gives the puppies the best chance to grow and develop properly. NuVet can be purchased at www.nuvet.com/79837 !!! 7. WHAT VACCINES WILL MY PUPPY NEED WHEN I GET IT HOME? Eight week old puppies will leave with one vaccination. They will need their complete puppy series of 3 at one month intervals. Due to vaccine damage and auto immune disorders, we have altered our recommendations for vaccinations to the puppy series, 1 yr, and then 4 yrs. Then they are done for life. You can also do a blood test called Titer which tests the immunity instead of giving vaccinations that could cause problems. Of course rabies must be given by law of your area. 8. HOW MANY HOURS CAN A PUPPY BE CRATED? An 8 wk old puppy needs to relieve itself about every 2 hours. So a puppy must not be crated more than 2 hours at a time or it will be living in its own waste. 8. WHAT SIZE COLLAR DO YOU BUY? An 8 wk old puppy needs a 10" adjustable 9. WHAT KIND OF TOYS DO YOU RECOMMEND? The soft berber squeeky toys are good for tiny pups. Rawhides are dangerous as they swallow large pieces and its gets stuck!! Kong or nylabone are good for bigger puppies. 10. DO LONGCOATS SHED AS MUCH AS SHORT COATS? German Shepherds are called German Shedders for a reason. Longcoats do shed as much as short coats but it appears to be less as the fur actually stays on the dog instead of flying so badly. The long coat required more maintenance! 11. AT WHAT AGE SHOULD I SPAY MY DOG? Minimum is 1 yr of age!!! We recommend 18 months to 2 yrs of age or after the dog has matured, HOWEVER; NOT AT THE EXPENSE OF AN ACCIDENTAL LITTER!!! The hormones play a large roll in the joint development so its very important to wait until the dog is matured before altering. 12. AT WHAT AGE CAN MY DOG START JOGGING WITH ME? At 6 months of age they can start going for longer walks (1-2 miles at most), at 1 yr of age they can start jogging (not on concrete). We recommend 18 months of age for 5k or longer. 13. WHAT OTHER SUPPLEMENTS DO YOU RECOMMEND? There are several supplements that we give our pack. NuVet is the base supplement but it does not contain enough Vitamin C, and no probiotics. So we give Ester C in powder form for joint development, and Doc Roys Symbiotics for a probiotic. Every large breed needs a joint supplement to help cushion the joints. NuJoint does the job. We have a testimonial of NuJoint helping those heavy ears to stand firm also. Good to Know!!! We also give Salmon oil, but only recommend Grizzly Salmon oil. We purchased another brand and it smelled more chemical than fishy so we only recommend Grizzly as its made in the good ole USA!!! 14. DO YOU EVER HAVE CHEAPER DOGS? Periodically we reduce the price of our pups due to various reasons. Sometimes when we have pups that have not found home and are getting to the age where they need to be placed, we will reduce. A puppy with a major fault will be reduced or many times just placed for adoption. If your looking for a cheaper puppy, you must wait and watch the site. There is no age or time frame when I can guarantee a puppy will be reduced in price. 15. AS OF OCTOBER 2020 WE HAVE IMPLEMENTED A FENCED YARD POLICY. |
